This morning I performed again at Allan Tomkins guitar Show. Another early start, but a lot of fun!
My manager Gill Robert and I also went out to lunch with David Lee Murphy and his manager Doug, and also ran into Sherrie Austin's mum (who lives in Nashville), who is about as Aussie as Aussie can get. She's absolutely fantastic!
While waiting for David's car to arrive, we were out in the back room of the Exhibition centre, and I turned around to see 'Northern Exposure' and 'Sex in the City' star John Corbett and also LeAnn Rimes. As much as I was dying to get a photo and autograph, I resisted. I knew they had both been out signing for the last couple hours, and felt like it was the wrong time to ask. I know there wouldn't have been any trouble, and I definitely regret it now, but there you go…
After David's car didn't arrive we, were given a lift from a passing golf cart right out of the Centre and down the street to the Restaurant. A lot of fun!!
Tonight I performed with Catherine Britt on an acoustic showcase at 12th and Porter, which was a songwriters night, and again she kicked butt!
This morning I had an early start, as I had rehearsals for this gig I was going to play for Kyle Wyley. Also this morning I received a phone call from John Nutting for an interview on Saturday Night Country, it was great fun, but felt strange that it was 10am in Nashville and I was talking live to air with John on his show.
The gig with Kyle went great, and my Little Maton guitar wiped the stage with these other guitars!
I also met up with good friend's of mine, Mark O'shea and Jay Smith who are both in town on writing trips.
It was so great to catch up with them as they now live in L.A!
Tonight I headed to the Coliseum to watch one of the most incredible gigs I've ever seen.
The Coliseum is where the main section of Fanfair is, and what a line up we had as well!
Billy Ray Cyrus (yes he did Achy Breaky Heart!), Carrie Underwood (Jesus, take the wheel...incredible!), Martina McBride (Broken Wing... say no more...) and Brad Paisley (the most incredible guitarist on the Planet!...Wow...!)
